HARQUITECTES leads the first lecture of APE Grupo’s Ágora 2026 series, now established as one of the leading platforms for architectural reflection in Castellón.
The session, titled “Radical Kindness”, explores their approach to architecture through the relationship between materiality, construction, context and sustainability. Through some of their most representative projects, HARQUITECTES reflects on how buildings can engage with their surroundings and respond responsibly to environmental, technical and social challenges.
The studio is currently one of the five finalists for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the international architectural landscape, positioning their work among the most relevant in contemporary European architecture.
With this 2026 edition, APE Grupo continues the Ágora series for the fourth consecutive year, consolidating it as a meeting point for architecture and interior design professionals.
In previous editions, the series has featured architects such as Rafael de la-Hoz, Benedetta Tagliabue, Carlos Lamela, Patxi Mangado, Emilio Tuñón, Iñaki Ábalos, Felipe Pich-Aguilera, Peris+Toral Arquitectes and Aranguren+Gallegos.
Through this initiative, APE Grupo reinforces its commitment to promoting architectural knowledge and fostering dialogue around the current challenges of design and construction.
HARQUITECTES is an architectural practice founded in 2000 by David Lorente, Josep Ricart, Xavier Ros and Roger Tudó. Their work is characterised by a rigorous approach to construction, with particular attention to materiality, energy efficiency and sustainable building processes.
The partners combine professional practice with teaching at prestigious institutions such as the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (ETSAV and ETSAB), ETH Zürich and Harvard Graduate School of Design, among others. They have also been invited lecturers at international schools such as the Architectural Association in London, the University of Texas at Austin, the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the École d’Architecture Paris-Villemin.
Throughout their career, HARQUITECTES has received numerous national and international awards. Recent recognitions include the Spanish Architecture Award (2023), the CSCAE Rehabilitation Award (2023), the Barbara Cappochin International Architecture Prize (2022), the Kunstpreis Berlin (2021) and the Fritz Höger Prize (2020).
